Set on the beautiful blue water of the Bay of Saint-Tropez, the seaside resort of Saint Tropez is still a popular place to visit.

This tiny but hugely prestigious version of a medieval town has all the glamour of Los Angeles and is well known today for its famous and wealthy guests.

The interest of this charming little port really came to life in the 50’s when Saint Tropez became ‘Saint Trop’. In the summer one could bump into the famous Picasso, amongst many others.

If you venture past the cafés you will find picturesque old buildings on rows of small streets. The modern times have mean that there are a multitude of shops and restaurants, however the history of the town is still very visible on its surface.

Over the centuries Knight of Malta and trading fleets have all left a lasting impression on this architectural gem.

The beaches of Tropez are mainly locate away from the centre and if you plan on taking a few trips to the beach throughout your holiday hiring a car is recommended.

There are some beaches located close to the west of the town, however the ease of walking to these beaches does make them somewhat busier.
If you would prefer something a bit more energetic than sunbathing many of the beaches of Saint Tropez offer opportunities to drive power boats, bike jets or why not try water skiing. If you would prefer something a bit more relaxing there are also opportunities for windsurfing, canoeing or even sailing.

The town square, or Place Aux Herbes is a lively area of Saint Tropez and has been for many centuries. If you get there early enough in the morning you will find fresh fruit and flowers and can take your pick of fish freshly caught by the local fishermen
